Your privacy
We collect only what we need to host you well, and we never sell it. This notice explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and how to reach us about it. It covers this website, our stay guides and bookings made through Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo.

Who we are
Vida Feliz Properties is run by Jamie Stewart Smellie, who operates three vacation rental homes in Sayulita: Vida Feliz Casitas, Casa Aurora and Casa Karma. Jamie is responsible for the personal data you share with us.
Address: Guanabano 201, Sayulita, Nayarit, 63734, Mexico
Privacy contact: Jamie, at info@vidafelizproperties.com or WhatsApp +52 322 146 6354
What we collect
- When you book: your name, email, phone number, country, arrival time and any note you write, plus the names and emails of other guests you add
- Payment: your card is handled by Stripe. Card numbers never reach our servers. We see the card brand, last four digits and payment status
- Golf cart rental: the driver's name, email and phone, and the result of the driving licence check. The licence photo and selfie go to Stripe, who checks them and keeps them. We only see whether the check passed, the name on the licence and its expiry date
- Stay guide: if you turn on reminders, a push address for your phone. If you sign up for emails, your email address
- Stay guide chat: the questions you type in the chat and the answers we give
- Messages: what you send us by WhatsApp or email
- Visiting the site: anonymous visitor counts (see Cookies below). We use the country your connection comes from to pick a starting currency, and we don't store it
Why we use it
To take and manage your booking, take payment, send your booking emails and arrival details, help you during your stay, issue refunds or charges under our policies, keep our homes safe and meet our legal and tax duties. We need this to host you.
Offers by email are the one optional use. We only send them if you tick the box at checkout, sign up in your stay guide or book a golf cart, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Saying no doesn't affect your booking. You can also write to us at any time to stop them.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Mexican tax law requires, usually five years. Stay guide reminders end after your stay. You stay on our email list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Stripe keeps licence check images under its own rules. Stay guide chat conversations are deleted 30 days after check out.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it or object to how we use it (in Mexico these are your ARCO rights). You can also withdraw your consent to offers by email at any time.
Email info@vidafelizproperties.com with your name, your booking dates if you have them and what you'd like us to do. We may ask you to confirm who you are. We reply within 20 business days.
Some records we must keep for tax or legal reasons, even if you ask us to delete them. We'll tell you if that applies.
If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the data protection authority where you live: in Mexico, the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno; in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (or the Commission d'accès à l'information in Quebec).
Keeping it safe
The site uses encrypted connections, only our team can see guest details, and door codes are sent only to guests who have booked. Our homes are for adults booking for themselves and their group: we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects you directly, we'll tell you by email before it applies.
